Presenting the ABB EcoSolutions™ label
Together with customers and partners, ABB is continuously innovating to make circular, more sustainable solutions and operations a reality.
The new ABB EcoSolutions™ label provides full transparency regarding the environmental impact throughout the entire life cycle of a product. Our goal is to actively promote sustainable development. To mitigate the impact on the environment and conserve Earth's resources for future generations, we collaborate with our customers and suppliers to encourage production within a circular economy. Simultaneously, we champion the principles of the circular economy within our own companies.
Validated by third parties
Customers and partners can now access the environmental product declaration or life cycle assessment of all ABB products that carry the EcoSolutions™ label. The products in the portfolio fulfill several performance indicators defined in ABB's circular economy framework. They also carry an external, third-party verified environmental product declaration in accordance with ISO 14025, the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).
Some of our power supply products have received the PEP ecopassport® certification, recognizing their outstanding environmental compatibility across all product life cycle phases—from manufacture and distribution through installation and use to end-of-life. Through this initiative, we empower companies to diminish their environmental impact while concurrently lowering energy costs and reducing their carbon footprint.
Products awarded the ABB EcoSolutions™ label: Emax2 series circuit-breakers, Tmax XT molded-case circuit-breakers, OTDC switch-disconnectors, AF contactors, the MegaFlex DPA UPS system and overload relays.
With ABB EcoSolutions™ label we guarantee our customers that the product they are buying:
- Is designed for longevity and manufactured with a maximum of sustainably sourced raw materials.
- Is produced using processes that minimize waste and maximize the use of sustainable packaging materials.
- Is designed to enhance resource and process efficiency during use, allowing for upgrades and optimizing the service life of devices and systems.
- Is supported by take-back services that facilitate refurbishment, reuse, or recycling of products and components.
- Comes with instructions for responsible end-of-life treatment.
